In addition to carrying out routine repairs when reported, we also have a planned maintenance programme. This is to make sure that our properties are kept in good condition over a period of time. For example, at some future point, kitchens or heating or other components of our buildings will need replaced. Other items such as corridor painting or maintaining or upgrading door entry systems are included in the programme. This planned Maintenance is costed for every Langstane scheme over a 30 year period.
Major Repairs Program – 2013/14
In line with our policy to maintain and, where possible, improve our housing stock it is our intention to carry out an extensive program of major repairs and cyclical maintenance throughout the year. The Major Repairs Budget for the year is in excess of £1.5 million and we have looked long and hard at where best to spend the money.
We have now finalised a list of schemes where we will be carrying out work sometime before April 2014. If your tenancy is one of those listed we will be contacting you with further details as soon as we have them. Some of the works have already started and as always we appreciate your co-operation while the contractors are on site.
