Paying Rent

Rents for your properties are due monthly in advance. You can choose to pay weekly, fortnightly or monthly if this is more convenient, but you should contact your Account Management Officer to agree the timings of your payments.

If you find yourself in rent arrears or are having problems paying your rent, we have specialist staff who provide practical support, advice and information. There are often many reasons that people find themselves in arrears and this can be a distressing time. More importantly, you may be at risk of losing their tenancy if this goes on unresolved. It is always best to seek help and advice as early as possible. You can do this by contacting our Account Management Team.

Our Account Management Team also provides Benefits advice.

To make paying your rent as easy as possible there are various methods available:

1. Use your rent swipe card

Langstane customers pay rent through a rent swipe card, issued on our behalf by allpay.net, which has a unique reference number to ensure all payments are correctly credited to your rent account. This is a free service. You can use this card to make payments in any of the following ways:

Over the counter

At any Post Office or PayZone outlet - simply present your card and your payment at the counter (some outlets will accept payment by debit card - you should contact them directly to confirm this). You will receive a printed receipt which you should keep for your records. Look out for the distinctive  PayZone logo at your local shop or garage.

Online

You can use your card to pay online by visiting https://www.allpayments.net

Over the phone

You can use your rent swipe card and your bank debit card to make a payment over the telephone. Ring the allpay.net payment centre on 0870 243 6040.  You will be guided through entering your 19 digit rent swipe card number and your debit card details, plus the amount you wish to pay.  If you have a problem you will be automatically redirected to a customer service advisor.  This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

If you would like to use any of these methods of payment and do not have a rent swipe card please contact us and we will arrange for a card to be sent to you.

2. Payment by Direct Debit is the hassle free way

Direct Debit is the cheapest, safest and most efficient way to pay your rent. It offers a payment guarantee - if we or your bank make an error, an immediate refund will be made by your bank.  We will make any required changes to the payment amount (you will be notified in advance) so your rent account will always be up to date. You can choose either the 1st or 15th of the month as your preferred payment date. If you wish to pay by direct debit, you can download a form, complete it then return it to Langstane.

3. Payment by Bank Standing Order

You can also pay by setting up a bank standing order. A bank standing order is similar to a direct debit. The main difference is you can decide the amount and frequency of payments with a standing order. If you wish to pay by standing order, you can download a form, complete it then return it to Langstane.

4. By Cash or Cheque

You can pay by cash or cheque over the counter at our offices. To pay by post send a cheque to our office. Please make the cheque payable to Langstane Housing Association and write your name, address and reference number on the back.
