Transfer and Exchanges

As a Langstane tenant there are two ways that you can find a new home: by transferring to a new home or by exchanging with another tenant.

If you are a Langstane tenant and want to move to another property owned by us you can apply for a transfer.  If you want to apply for a transfer, you need to apply on-line.

A mutual exchange occurs when two tenants wish to exchange properties with each other. This can be between two Langstane tenants or between two tenants with different social landlords. No exchange shall be granted between a tenant and an owner occupier or a private landlord tenant. It is your responsibility to identify the person who you want to exchange with. You should contact our offices where Customer Services will advise you what you should do.

You can only be considered for a transfer or an exchange if you have lived in your current accommodation for a year. You will not be considered for a transfer unless you have conducted your tenancy in a satisfactory manner and have a clear rent account.
