Origins and Development

On 22 May 2006, at an Extraordinary General Meeting of the Committee of Management, Langstane (S.P.) Housing Association Ltd was officially re-named Next Step Homes - Part of the Langstane Group.  The re-naming of the Association reflects its priority to develop further the variety of tenure options which it currently provides.

Next Step Homes was set up  to complement the work of Langstane Housing Association by providing shared ownership opportunities for unsuitably housed people, including families, who aspired to home ownership but whose income as insufficient to allow them to purchase outright.

Next Step Homes currently has 117 shared ownership units under management, mainly within Aberdeen City, but also in Stonehaven, Keith and Elgin.
