Devanha

Langstane is one of the leading players in Devanha, the Company set up by the North East Housing Associations to manage the construction of its new homes for the next 4 years.

In March, Devanha got confirmation of a unique programme of funding for the provision of 1500 units at a total estimated cost of £150,000,000.

Since then, work has gone on to select Contractors and Design Teams to deliver the programme. After a lengthy process of advertising, tendering and interviewing, Devanha is about to appoint its Contractors and Consultants, and it is expected that work will begin on the first tranche of sites in September.

One of the things which makes this arrangement different from previous arrangements is that the contracts with the Contractors will be on the collaborative principle. Devanha, its member Associations, the Contractors and Consultants, will establish partnerships with each party having the same interest in achieving maximum efficiency, and sharing in gains made from cost savings.
