DEVANHA GOES ON DEVELOPING

In partnership with the other associations in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire Housing Partnership, Castlehill Housing Association, Grampian Housing Association and Tenants First Housing Co-operative, Langstane is heavily involved in the growth and establishment of Devanha Limited as a strategic procurement vehicle for social housing in the North East.

Two years ago, the associations involved carried out their first attempt at volume procurement when 13 contracts were tendered for in a bundle and carried out by 2 developers, Stewart Milne Homes Limited and the Robertson Group.

Learning from the experience of the first round, the associations now wish to establish Devanha not simply as a bulk procurement vehicle but as a limited company in its own right, acting as a strategic development agency for all the associations.

The initiative addresses the bulk procurement agenda as set out in the Egan report some years ago.
