Grampian Women’s Aid offers a free, confidential and non-judgemental service to women, children and young people in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire who have experienced domestic abuse.
They have an in-depth and specialist understanding of domestic abuse and its impact informed by over 40 years of listening to and working with women, children and young people providing services that are safe including one-to-one support, advice on housing and benefits, temporary accommodation, counselling, safety planning and information about rights and legal issues.
They know that domestic abuse is not just hitting, and for many physical violence may never take place; it is about a pattern of coercive and controlling behaviour that impacts the ability of women, children and young people to live safe and free lives.
