Earlier this year the staff at Langstane Housing Association was given the opportunity to nominate a charity to support throughout 2017.
The successful charity this year is Archway.
Archway is an independent Aberdeen based charity offering a range of innovative community based services to improve the opportunities available and quality of life for people with learning disabilities in Aberdeen and throughout the North East area.
Helen Gauld, Chief Executive at Langstane Housing Association said “It is always such a difficult task to pick only one charity to support from the multitude of great charities operating in Aberdeen and the surrounding areas.
All of the charities nominated this year are great and it was a close race with all of them very popular and worthy of support. However, we are delighted that Archway was our chosen charity.
Archway provides an essential service to people with learning disabilities in Aberdeen and throughout the North East area and we are proud to support them.”
Emma Watson, General Manager at Archway said “We are delighted that Langstane Housing Association chose us as their nominated charity in their special Anniversary year.
Archway and Langstane have had a long standing relationship dating back over 27 years!
Archway offers a lifeline of caring services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to almost 200 children, young people and adults through respite, shared and permanent care services. Everyone using Archway benefits so much from the opportunity to gain independent living skills, social and interpersonal skills and to just have the kind of experiences the rest of us take for granted whole parents get a much -needed break!
Every year we must raise almost £100,000 to afford the special equipment, therapies, outings and activities that make such a difference.
Without support, such as Langstane's, it would be impossible and we just can't thank them enough.”
