Tenants have until Monday 24 February to tell us what they think of changes to our Planned and Cyclical Maintenance Policy Consultation.
We are reviewing our Planned and Cyclical Maintenance Policy. This sets out when we replace things like kitchens, bathrooms and heating systems. It also covers how we look after things such as windows, communal flooring and decoration of internal and external paintwork. This is complicated and involves us deciding how long we can expect things to last, and working out when we will have money available in our budgets to pay for replacements. We work our future budgets out over a total time period of 30 years.
The policy review contains changes to the length of time for replacing kitchens and gas boilers as well as asking questions about how we approach redecoration and flooring replacements.
Along with the policy, we have developed a Langstane Standard for 2020 – 2023. This provides details of the work we will do, and the standards we will work to.
We have sent the consultation questions out to a selection of our Register of Interested Tenants who have told us that they are interested in housing quality and maintenance. We have also sent a survey link to a random sample of other tenants.
