Living Advent Calendar at Aberdeen Central Library 28/11/19

With a little help from friends this December Aberdeen City Libraries and Creative Learning are hosting a Living Advent Calendar to bring some cheer and creativity to anyone living, working in or visiting Aberdeen.

Everyday up until and including the 24th December they will feature a free ½ hour drop in event at the Library. There will also be things to take away.

They have been overwhelmed with the generosity of so many different people and organisations who have with big hearts answered their invite and have agreed to give up their time for free to deliver the different surprises behind each of the advent doors.

At a time which can be quite lonely and isolating the Advent Calendar is designed to bring people together for some light entertainment and activity. It’s a bit of fun and is designed to be accessible for all ages, stages and abilities. The aim is to boost people’s overall sense of wellbeing and highlight all the local community has to offer not just at Christmas but throughout the year.

Each day the advent calendar will open gradually on social media:

  • 9am -- An icon to indicate the sort of event (i.e. a musical note, artists brush etc).
  • 10am  -- A pixelated image clue
  • 12.15pm -- The advent calendar event will be revealed

The event be live at Central Library from 12.45pm till 1.15pm (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and, Saturdays) and 5.45pm till 6.15pm (Mondays and Wednesdays).  On Sundays a free creative activity elsewhere in the city has been selected.

Everyone is welcome so please do go along at the times detailed above and see what's happening or watch on social media.
