Due to delays with the watermain diversion on both sides of the river, regrettably the planned works have to be rescheduled. Following a review of the temporary works it has been highlighted that six weeks will now be required to complete this important part of the construction of the culvert.
The closure is necessary to undertake the second phase of works associated with the installation of the two higher capacity culverts on the Glaslaw Burn. This involves the diversion of multiple utilities, breaking out the road, replacing the culvert and reinstatement of the area.
For health and safety reasons, this means no one will be able to drive on Low Wood Road from Carron Gardens junction until Invercarron Resource Centre junction. The Woodview Court access via Carron Gardens will have reopened.
Importantly vehicular access will be maintained for access to:
- Carron Gardens
- Woodview Court
- Nos 44 to 48 Dunnottar Avenue
- Invercarron Resource Centre
The official alternative route is available via Dunnottar Avenue – Bridgefield – Allardice Street – Evan Street – Arduthie Road – Brickfield Road – Woodcot Brae – Low Wood Road and vice versa. Please be assured that both Emergency and pedestrian access will be maintained throughout.
We apologise in advance for any inconvenience during the temporary restriction. This is necessary in the interests of public safety due to this vital piece of the works and we thank you for your continued cooperation and support during the construction works for the benefit of the Stonehaven Community.
