Community Food Initiatives North East (CFINE) was constituted in 1997 and over the years has grown to become a successful charity and social enterprise, providing a quality service to thousands of people in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. CFINE has a team of experienced and motivated staff and committed volunteers. They provide services and support which help improve health and wellbeing and the environment, contribute to community regeneration, increase employability and create employment in and with disadvantaged and vulnerable communities.
CFINE is the lead partner in the Food Banks Partnership Aberdeen. The Partnership involves 35 community and voluntary organisations including churches, the SMART housing project which gives money advice to tenants from 4 local social landlords, North East Scotland Credit Union and Aberdeen City Council. In 2015, the Partnership expects to provide around 20,000 emergency parcels of food and items such as toiletries.
Langstane purchases fruit for staff on a two weekly basis, supporting the Association’s Healthy Working Lives project. On a weekly basis CFINE provide this service to residents in Langstane’s Fraser Court.
