Disabled Adaptations

Disabled Adaptations

If you or a member of your family are struggling to cope in your home because of a disability, we may be able to help by making adaptations to your property.

Every year Langstane receives money from the Scottish Government to carry out adaptations to tenants' properties. Typical adaptations include:

  • Grab rails
  • Lever Taps
  • Overbath showers
  • Level access showers
  • Stair lifts
  • Automatic door openers

To find out if you are eligible for an adaptation to your property please contact your local authority Occupational Therapy Department. They will arrange an assessment of your needs. Your Occupational Therapist will send us a referral which will allow us to get started planning and pricing the work.

We aim to complete minor adaptations such as grab rails and lever taps within 6 weeks of receiving your referral. Larger adaptations can take longer. Exact timescales will depend on how complicated the work is and the amount of funding we have available. We aim to complete work within 6 - 8 months of receiving your referral.
