Right to Repair
**SERVICE UPDATE – CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK**
During the current health crisis we are responding as quickly as we can to Emergency Repairs only. The Government has allowed us to suspend your Right to Repair during this time where we are unable to keep to the usual repairs timescales.
Please be advised we will continue to do our best to attend emergency repairs as quickly as we can, and will resume our normal repairs service as soon as possible.
The Right to Repair Scheme forms part of the Housing (Scotland) Act 2001, and means that all tenants who have a Scottish Secure Tenancy or a Short Scottish Secure Tenancy (Langstane tenants fall into one of these two categories), have the right to have small urgent repairs carried out by their landlord within a given timescale.
We will tell you when you contact us if your repair qualifies under the scheme, who our approved contractors are and when the repair should be completed by. If we don’t have the repair completed in time, you may have the right to contact one of our approved contractors to get the work done or you may be entitled to compensation.
For further information on the scheme, please see the Right to Repair leaflet in the downloads menu. Our Response Repairs Policy is also available in the downloads menu.
