Langstane Housing Association are supporting #ChallengePovertyWeek which runs from Monday 5 - Sunday 11 October, 2026.

What is Challenge Poverty Week?

Challenge Poverty Week is an annual event which is coordinated and delivered by The Poverty Alliance. It is an opportunity to raise our voices together against the injustice of poverty and unite with hundreds of organisations across Scotland in calling for a more just and equal society.

This is a real, practical opportunity to build a stronger movement against poverty and demonstrate our values of justice and compassion. At a time when life is becoming tougher for many people, it is vital that we build support for ending poverty.

Our Pantry

We understand that from time to time, people may find themselves a little short on food. To offer some additional support, we have a small pantry within our headquarters office containing a selection of non perishable food items that are available to tenants who may need them. You are welcome to collect items from the pantry whenever our office is open. Please note that we do not stock fresh food or fresh milk, and the pantry is not intended to replace local food banks or other support services. Rather, it is here to complement those services and provide a little extra help to our tenants when they need it.

Please do not hesitate to make use of this service, there is no need to feel embarrassed or uncomfortable about asking for support. We are here to help.

Welfare Advice

We want to highlight our commitment to combating poverty and the valuable services we provide to our tenants.

One of the crucial services we offer is Welfare Advice, designed to support our tenants in managing their finances.

Our Tenant Welfare Advisor, David Campbell, is here to help you navigate any financial queries and offer advice tailored to your needs.

If you'd like to reach out to David or learn more about the resources available to you, please watch our tenant welfare advice video.
