Jack Marshall

Jack Marshall, 67, lives in Edinburgh and brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to his role with Langstane. With a professional background spanning over 45 years, Jack has worked extensively in finance within both local government and the housing association sector. 

He spent more than three decades in local government finance and over 15 years in senior Housing Association roles, including 10 years as Finance Director at Trust Housing Association. He has also undertaken interim assignments with Hanover (Scotland) Housing Association and Bield Housing Association, managing a wide range of corporate functions including finance, IT, HR, procurement, equality, diversity and inclusion, and corporate administration.

Jack has a strong record of governance, having served as a board member for three other housing associations, including Langstane and for Langstane Property.

Beyond housing, he is actively involved in his community as a member of the Age Scotland Older People’s LGBT Forum and serves as treasurer for both the Fountainbridge Canalside Community Trust and the Craigmount Hill Proprietors Association.

Outside of his professional and voluntary commitments, Jack enjoys travelling, art, architecture, history, DIY, cooking, reading, and theatre. His key strength lies in his extensive housing finance expertise, combined with a deep understanding of the governance and operational needs of both housing associations and small charities.
