Aberdeen City Health & Wellbeing Programme

Aberdeen City Council have partnered with local organisations to provide dementia friendly events for older people and those of all ages who are affected by dementia, social isolation, loneliness, mental health issues, mobility issues and other conditions.

Additionally, a new event called Swim Together, will take place on the first Thursday of each month, starting Thursday 7 August 2025. It is an indoor swimming session at Get Active @ Northfield created especially for adults living with mental illness or experiencing mental health challenges. Read below for more information.

Swim Together

Swim Together is inspired by the Mental Health Swims model, the session will offer an indoor, peaceful, pressure free and safe space to relax, recharge and connect with others. The sessions will be facilitated by friendly, trained Swim Hosts who will be there to support swimmers every step (and splash!) of the way. Each session is £2.50 per person, this includes the swim session and tea/coffee afterwards.

Spaces will be limited so advanced booking is advised.
