Adopting the Sustainability Reporting Standard

At Langstane Housing Association, we are committed to building a sustainable future for our tenants. We are therefore delighted to announce that we have adopted the Sustainability Reporting Standard for Social Housing (SRS).

This standardisation across the sector signifies a leap forward in transparency and comprehensiveness, not only for our own reporting but also in comparison to others.

This unified approach benefits both us and our stakeholders who can now readily assess our commitment to sustainable communities.

This important step demonstrates our ongoing commitment to:

  • Reducing our environmental impact through energy-efficient housing, sustainable construction practices, and responsible waste management.
  • Creating thriving communities by fostering social cohesion, promoting well-being, and investing in local amenities.
  • Ensuring good governance by upholding ethical standards, promoting transparency, and engaging with stakeholders.

"We are excited to take this important step towards a more sustainable future for our residents and communities." said Helen Gauld, Chief Executive of Langstane Housing Association.

"The Sustainability Reporting Standard (SRS) will provide a valuable framework for measuring and improving our environmental, social and governance performance.”

Brendan Sarsfield, Chair of Sustainability for Housing, said: “We are pleased to welcome Langstane Housing Association to our growing pool of adopters across Scotland, Wales and England.”

“It is great to see Langstane Housing Association recognising the benefits of the SRS, especially for their residents, and we look forward to helping them with their sustainability efforts.”

Joining the SRS community allows us to showcase our unwavering dedication to the long-term well-being of our tenants.

By leveraging the SRS to measure and continuously improve our sustainability performance, we pave the way for warmer, more efficient and cost-effective homes, ultimately creating a brighter future for all.
